Water Angel

I personally find this such an amazing artwork. What is even more amazing is that it was actually photographed by splashing water on the model. No, it is not added with Photoshop.

Jaroslav Wieczorkiewicz, the artist behind the artwork shares a little bit about it in this blog post (by Strobist).

Colorful Digital Art

Got introduced to Chuck Anderson's work this week through a classmate. I just love how he makes colorful artworks out of ordinary pictures. Digital Art has recently been one of my fascinations.

Who is your favorite Digital Artist? Please share!

Vivid Illustrations

Happy Monday! Thanks to everyone that participated in Get Involved Week. If you made your wishes for 11.11.11, I hope they are already coming true. During the weekend I StumbleUpon these great illustrations done by Marguaerite Sauvage. Not only is her illustrations great, but I love the colors she adds to them.

It really made me think of the variety of possibilities and ways we can be creative. Just think about it, are you really being creative in all the areas of life that you can be?

Leaffy art

Being in love with StumbleUpon is a great thing! It has led me to discover these amazing artworks by Lorezon Duran. Apparently he washes than dries the leaf to cut out these awesome artworks.

Easy Wall Artwork that will keep you going

Found this on Pinterest (via Abyleys Golden). This will look good in many homes and it is quite easy to do. Get some old scrapes of wood, use some old paint and get your favorite words on there. There's a great chance this will be a creation for my room.

Aside from that these words are lovely.

Curacao flavoured artwork - Nena Sanchez

Last weekend, I stopped by the art gallery of Nena Sanchez here in Curacao. Our island is known for it's colors and Ms. Sanchez does not fall short of showing this off in her artwork. All of the drawings that she does involves some kind of architecture, flower or cultural elements of our island.

Best thing about it is that she also has her artwork online, this way everyone from all over the world can have a piece of her artwork in their home. So go take a look at her artwork at nenasanchez.com

Cloud Men

Art is about a lot of things, intuition is one of them. At times I encounter people that tell me that they are not "artistic", yet they do have a favorite song or a favorite movie, these are all forms of art. So these "non-artistic" people are artistic after all, because they do gravitate to a form of art.

The above artwork is very abstract, I have no idea what it symbolizes. All I know is that it is called "Could Men". One thing I do know though, is that intuitively I really like it and enjoy looking at it. Hopefully you do too. Art by Chad Hagen.

Easy A

Happy week everyone! Hope you have a very productive, fun filled week. Benjamin Victoria took over once again yesterday with EXTREME MONDAY, so I took a little writing break and got some other things done.

Have you heard about Easy A? I mean the project, not the movie. The finished project can be seen above. It is a DIY project done by Jen Jockish for American Crafts. The official name is the Element Monogram, but since its so easy, I thought I would borrow the movie title for a bit.

Head on to the tutorial and start making a button artwork from your favorite letter. Jen chose the letter A because of her daughter's name. It would be really nice to see how it looks with other letters as well.

Blue bee love

Great work by Angie Renfro made with oil on panel. This reminds me a bit of the 'Balloon' by Max Wagner that I posted about earlier this week. Has that same simplicity yet something that captures the eye and the senses.

*Yesterday I updated my 'About' page, so please take a look and let me know what you think. Also I would love to hang out on Twitter if you have the chance.

Simple yet complex

well-being 1

well-being 3

well-being 4

Simple yet complex, is the way I would describe these mixed media artwork from Valerie Roybal. All are part of her collection called "A study of well being". It is definitely an art to combine different scraps together to create something this incredible.

Get the most out of your keyboard

It comes in different color shapes and sizes. Used to be part of a computer, but now even phones and other gadgets have it. You might already guess it, the keyboard.

There is not much special about the keyboard, for most it is simply another way to use their hands and communicate something. Nonetheless there are more characters than just the QWERTY alphabet keys. These other symbols can create nice designs to make your text more decorated.

~`!@#$%^&*()_+-=|{[}]\"?':;/><.,

Above you can see the variety of different characters. Nothing interesting right? Until you come across people that create things like this:

_--_                                     _--_
/#()# #\         0             0         /# #()#\
|()##  \#\_       \           /       _/#/  ##()|
|#()##-=###\_      \         /      _/###=-##()#|
 \#()#-=##  #\_     \       /     _/#  ##=-#()#/
  |#()#--==### \_    \     /    _/ ###==--#()#|
  |#()##--=#    #\_   \!!!/   _/#    #=--##()#|
   \#()##---===####\   O|O   /####===---##()#/
    |#()#____==#####\ / Y \ /#####==____#()#|
     \###______######|\/#\/|######______###/
        ()#O#/      ##\_#_/##      \#O#()
       ()#O#(__-===###/ _ \###===-__)#O#()
      ()#O#(   #  ###_(_|_)_###  #   )#O#()
      ()#O(---#__###/ (_|_) \###__#---)O#()
      ()#O#( / / ##/  (_|_)  \## \ \ )#O#()
      ()##O#\_/  #/   (_|_)   \#  \_/#O##()
       \)##OO#\ -)    (_|_)    (- /#OO##(/
        )//##OOO*|    / | \    |*OOO##\\(
        |/_####_/    ( /X\ )    \_####_\|
       /X/ \__/       \___/       \__/ \X\
      (#/                               \#)

Aside from that you can simply decorate with the curly braces {like this} or you can use a stylish text generator to create something (¯`·.¸¸.-> °º lιĸe тнιѕ º° <-.¸¸.·´¯).

Even tough you cannot use these in professional letters, it is something that can be played around with when writing fun things online. While browsing the net for interesting ASCII artwork, I cam across these three. I won't have the patience to create these but they certainly are nice to look at.
