Easy Wall Artwork that will keep you going
Found this on Pinterest (via Abyleys Golden). This will look good in many homes and it is quite easy to do. Get some old scrapes of wood, use some old paint and get your favorite words on there. There's a great chance this will be a creation for my room.
Aside from that these words are lovely.

Drink umbrella lamp
This just calls out for relaxation and fun! A lamp made out of drink umbrella's is nothing short than brilliant. Love how the colors blend in with each other and the lamp stand.

Artist showcase: conilab
Coni Della Vedova contacted me to share her artwork with everyone through the "Have an inspiration?" link. She makes these artworks using handmade serigraphy. To me it looks like a lot of work, but they all look great!
The love what you do one is my favorite. It is what I chose to made my life motto.
Do you like her work? They can be purchased in her Etsy shop named confab.

It was a cactus bud
No, it was not an artichoke. Tracey G and Michelle had it right! Yesterday's Wordless Wednesday picture is of an cactus bud. This particular cactus called "Dama di anochi" (lady of the night) in Papiamentu, only opens its flowers during the night and it only does so about twice a year. Last night was the first night that one flower opened. Tonight all of the buds are supposed to open.
Here is a snapshot of what it looked like last night.

The Best Camera Ever
Photo credit: Bea loves photography |
Think about it for a minute, with the
eye we can capture pictures in an instant without having to play
around with shutter speed, aperture, or flash. Use of the eye is
completely free and the images can never be destroyed.
Just like a photographer can photograph
the most ugliest of things in an attractive way, we can also choose
to see the ugliest situations in our lives with a different eye by
creatively seeing the positive inside of it. Besides, make sure that
you do not forget the beautiful moments your natural camera captures.
Hang them all up in the gallery of your mind. This way you are always
surrounded by beauty.

Creative way to use plates
Here is a creative idea. Hanging plates on the wall (found via Remodelista). There are some other examples on how to do it right here.
I don't know about you, but I know that I have some spare plates that can go on the walls.

Pictures after a week of fun
As promised, here are some pictures taken during my time exploring Curacao. You can find some more in the album "Curacao" on Flickr. It was an amazing week, but I did miss blogging.
The above picture is the most creative thing I saw this week, a pot made out of an ostrich egg shell.

Relaxing
Will be exploring Curacao in the next couple of days. Will be back later with pictures (this one was taken yesterday).
In the mean time would really like to hear more about the most relaxing place you've ever experienced. (I will be checking the comments).

The most amazing shelves
Aren't these the most amazing shelves you've ever seen? Not really sure if you can store things on them. What do you think, storage or decoration?

Generate Your Own Color Palette
This is a tool that I am sure a lot of you will find helpful and fun to play around with. A couple of posts back I shared about Design Seed and the amazing color palettes they have. To my surprise I found out an easy way of doing it on Pinterest (via Pepper Ferguson).
With the Color Palette Generator from DeGreave, you can easily find the palette of colors used on any image on the internet. All you have to do is upload the link and it automatically generates the colors for you. I thought the Nena Sanchez painting was a good one to try out. So there you have my experiment. At the bottom you can see what I made out of it for myself using Photoshop.
How are you planning to use this tool?

DIY Bookstand From Hanger
First day of school and already encountered a problem that needed a creative solution. Studying Graphic Design means that a lot of work is done on the computer, yet there are still books that need to be read. I quickly found out that trying to hold the pages open while doing assignments on the computer is not very practical.
So I searched the internet for book holders and learned that there are some really nice ones out there. My only problem was that I needed it right away. That was when I came across this video on LifeHacker. It is a fast, easy, simple, creative and cheap way to get a book holder.
And here is how my bookstand ended up looking like. The white paint rubbed off the top part while I was twisting it. Good thing you don't see that when the book is on it.
